Abdelkader Benali

Author: Abdelkader Benali (1975) arrived in Rotterdam from Morocco as a small boy. His father started a butchershop. Benali made his debut with the novel 'Bruiloft aan Zee', which became a bestseller in many countries. His second novel 'De langverwachte' received the 'Libris Literature Price'. Futhermore he wrote many novels, a collection of poems, the play 'Jasser' and coverages from a besieged Beirut, where Benali unintendedly landed in a war between Israel and Hezbollah.


Illustrator: Nanne Meulendijks is an independent artist and quickly reached the top in Holland as an illustrator. Her work appears in nationwide newspapers such as NRC Handelsblad, NRC Next,  AD, Trouw and Volkskrant. She is working as well for the publishing firm Lannoo (Children's books).
